Living in France has its obvious drawbacks; no HP sauce, marmite or proper chips. However, I did recently enjoy one of the advantages to being on this side of the Channel; watching Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain a full 5 weeks before its release in the UK.After wrapping on ‘Requiem for a Dream’, filmmaker Aronofsky narrowed his eyes and focused on what he has described as his “dream film”. The Fountain, epic in scope, deals with themes such as love, death and immortality and is, at its core, a love story that spans 1000 years.
