Ian Wright - portfolio

Playfulness is important to me; I’m motivated by trying to push my work somewhere new. Somewhere else. Really, I’m interested in what could be. I sometimes reach that point by making mistakes and generally misusing technology and I often arrive at solutions by accident. I prefer to let the materials I use influence the outcome. I especially enjoy making portraits and I’m excited by the process of collaboration. I love conversation. I’m obsessed by music. I’m looking forward to what happens next.

Degrees of Separation

Degrees of Separation is a postcard book about post-Katrina responses by designers and artists. Many of those who took part in the project were displaced by the hurricane. The book will be released on March 1.

Jody Barton - Illustrator/Typographer (Portfolio)

Born and raised in the British Isles and educated in London at Camberwell College of Arts and The Royal College of Arts. As well as being an illustrator for print and web, Jody has also had extensive experience of working in animation and sound. He paints skateboards, surfboards, designs vinyl cuts of his work, prints stickers, designs T-shirts, books, pamphlets, hand assembles custom bicycles, draws directly onto the body, plays guitar, bass and drums (although not at the same time), screenprints, makes textile designs and draws on T-shirts. He lives and works in Suffolk and London.

THE BEING ABROAD SKETCHBOOK CHALLENGE

The Sketchbook Challenge is a different way to submit work to the Being Abroad project. Please visit the main site for full project details.

How does it work?Once the public deadline of 31st January 2007 has passed, we will send out 10 sketchbooks around the world for people to enter their submissions into directly. Work can of course still be written text, but we would like to encourage more creative entries involving layout, drawings, graphics, stuck in pieces of fuzzy-felt, etc.
